By Friday, 231 January, per the fair press update, visitor numbers at the 56th Cairo International Book Fair stood at 3,565,434. In fact Friday alone saw 796,654 visitors come through the gates.
The event winds down on Wednesday 5 February, by when it seems very likely footfall will exceed last year’s record of 4.7 million.
